Man, 21, Docked Over Alleged Theft Of Eggs Worth N180,000
A 21-year old man, Seyi Majekodunmi, was on Friday docked before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court in Isabo, over alleged theft of eggs valued N180,000.
Majekodunmi, whose address was not given, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp Kehinde Fawunmi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 6.00p.m on Dec 12, 2024, at Towdah Farms, in Abeokuta.
Fawunmi further said that Majekodunmi, a staff of the farm, conspired with others now at large, and stole 36 crates of eggs valued N180,000.
He said that the defendant also stole 50 birds valued N75,000, also belonging Towdah Farms.
The prosecutor said that the manager of farm noticed a drastic fall in eggs production in the farm, and called for investigation.
“Upon investigation they found two crates of eggs in a nearby bush, which were later traced to the defendant,”he said.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 516, 390 and 383 of the criminal code Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. O Odumosu-Akeba, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case until Feb. 20 for hearing (NAN)
