Kano Governor Sacks SSG, Five Commissioners
Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State on Thursday, December 12, sacked the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Abdullahi Baffa Bichi.
He also scrapped the office of the Chief of Staff, which until now was occupied by Alh. Shehu Wada Sagagi.
The governor said the former SSG was “dropped on heath ground.”
The governor also “dropped” five commissioners, which included Ibrahim Jibril Fagge, of Finance Ministry, Ladidi Ibrahim Garko, Culture and Tourism; Baba Halilu Dantiye, Information and Internal Affairs, Shehu Aliyu Yammedi, Special Duties and Abbas Sani Abbas, Rural and Community Development.
Yusuf, in a statement by his spokesman, Sanusi Bature, on Thursday, however, directed the Chief of Staff and the five commissioners dropped to “report to the office of the governor for possible reassignment.”
The governor stated that the reshuffle of the state executive council was to effect the pragmatic political realignment of his administration, saying the cabinet rejig takes immediate effect.
He said the decision will enable optimum performance that will drive more dividends of democracy to the people of Kano state.
