Burna Boy Hits 1 billion Streams With Two Albums On Spotify
Grammy-winning singer, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy has achieved another feat as he becomes the first Nigerian artist with two albums exceeding 1 billion streams on Spotify.
He achieved this milestone with his 2019 album, African Giant, which recently hit 1 billion streams, joining his sixth album, Love, Damini, which boasts 1.3 billion streams.
Released in 2019, African Giant cemented Burna Boy’s global influence, featuring hits like “On The Low” and “Gbona,” both of which achieved platinum status in France.
Following the success of “YE” from his 2018 album Outside, African Giant propelled Burna Boy’s rise as a leading voice in Afrobeats, further elevating African music on the world stage.
