Malam Usman Maigadi, a guard at Orchard Farm owned by the Emir of Yauri, Dr Muhammad Zayyanu-Abdullahi, has been killed by a mother hippopotamus, the News Agency of Nigeria, reports.
NAN reports that the animal may have perceived the deceased as coming to harm its baby, hence the attack in self- defence.
