AFCON 2023: Super Eagles Depart For Ivory Coast In African Attires
The Super Eagles of Nigeria has departed Lagos in a chartered flight to Abidjan on Wednesday morning ahead of the AFCON 2023 competition to be hosted by Ivory Coast.
The players and their officials left the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, for Abidjan dressed in traditional African attires to highlight the national colours.
The contingent arrived in Lagos from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Tuesday.
Jose Peseiro’s side spent one week in Abu Dhabi perfecting strategies for the AFCON.
They were hosted to a send-forth dinner by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday night.
The three-time African champions will be based at the Pullman Hotel in Abidjan.
Nigeria’s first game is against Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, on Sunday.
