Police Ready To Prosecute Blessing CEO For Cyber Bullying

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has instituted a Notice of Interlocutory Injunction against relationship Expert and therapist Blessing Okoro, better known as Blessing CEO before the Federal High Court in Lagos. for alleged Cyber-bullying and Libel.

The social media influencer was arraigned before Justice Yelim Bogoro by the police on a six-count charge of alleged Cyber-bullying, libel and for exhibiting uncensored movies.

The prosecutor, Rotshang Faith Dimka, told the court to refrain BlessingCEO, a resident of 1b, Tunbosun Osoby Street, off Kuboye Road Lekki, Lagos from further defaming, blackmailing the prosecution the nominal complainant, Mrs Folashade Williams, a.k.a Mama jazz a younger sister to Late Bimbo Ogbonna.

Blessing CEO in her defence when the matter came on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, through her lawyer, Prince Nwafuru, initiated a Preliminary Objection, questioning the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court to entertain the matter.

While the case lasted, Justice Bogoro directed parties to adopt their various briefs of arguments before the court, which they did.

The court therefore said it was going to look into all the applications before it and deliver a ruling on the Notice of Preliminary Objection filed by the defendant.

Justice Bogoro therefore adjourned the case to the 30th day of January 2024 for ruling.

The court ordered that the controversial blogger to be kept in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services after she pleaded not guilty to the charge.

‘BlessingCEO’ was later granted bail in the sum of N10m with equal sureties by another judge of the court, Justice Tijjani Ringim, after the prosecution had asked him to exercise its discretion while setting bail requirements.
