Commercial driver Arrested for Allegedly beating a 67- year- old man, Inflicts Terrible Head Injury.
Officials of the Nigerian Police on Monday arrested a young commercial driver from Ikere Ekiti known as Dada for allegedly beating up a 67year old man Babatola Falana.
Dada, who is in his thirties was said to have inflicted terrible injuries on the man’s head, mouth and other parts of his body.
LagosTimes Nigeria gathered that the incident happened yesterday at a filling station on along Ikere Road.
Tope Falana, one of the children of the victim narrated that:”My dad went to buy fuel at Topline Filling Station along Ikere Ado Road, Ikere Ekiti. He mistakenly scratched the driver’s car but all efforts to persuade him proved abortive as he pounces heavily on the old man.
He further explained that his father has been referred from Ikere General Hospital to Afe Babalola Multi-purpose Hospital for further treatment.
He called on the police to ensure that the driver face the full wrath of the law to as to serve as lesson to others.
According to him, it is the usual habit of commercial drivers to take laws into their hands saying something must be done to correct the situation.
